I started theveganweddingplanner blog in 2011 when I changed to a vegan diet and started reading a lot about food, animals and the environment. It was something I was doing for me, I always liked to write and what better way to share what I found to be important facts and reviews than a blog; I also enjoyed doing something that was not related to my full-time job. At the time I was focused on promoting environmental awareness and mixing it with my new found veganism and my hopefully up and coming wedding planning business. I enjoyed being a wedding coordinator and in my mind the goal was for the business to really pick up so I could quit my job, have my own business that allowed me to stay at home and then start a family.
Then life happened and I stopped blogging for a bit. I got pregnant, my wedding planning business was not even close to being successful and I was still at the same job. My love for the environment and animals of course spilled into my preparations for the expected bundle of joy. I started blogging again when I had my daughter and realized that I wanted to make my passion for cloth diapers and eco-friendly living not only my hobby but my business. While the blog is purely for my enjoyment (and hopefully the education and enjoyment of some moms, dads, and other readers out there), I hope that Hoppy Bottoms will grow into the business I want it to be:
- promoting and selling cloth diapers
- promoting and selling eco-friendly products for the whole family
- providing support and services for parents-to-be and new parents (see here)
- providing support and services to fellow bloggers
- supporting WAHMs (we are all WAHMs in some way but those who actually make things that they sell from home)
This will combine my love for event planning, the environment, cloth diapers, being a mom, and eco-friendly living all into one!
After realizing that there is an entire world of mom bloggers, cloth diaper bloggers and eco-friendly living bloggers I started reading and following other blogs as a way to support my fellow mamas and bloggers. I registered the name Hoppy Bottoms and then started to think about the “branding” of my business. I came across Cari of Cari Thomas Designs after joining New Jersey Bloggers . She had done the design for another NJ blogger and I liked the work so I reached out to her. She asked me what I was looking for, the inspiration behind my business and then went to work. She was great to work with and she designed my header (isn’t it adorable?!) and some buttons for Hoppy Bottoms based on the name, tagline and theme. The turn-around time was great and she worked with me to get exactly what I wanted.
I am slowly starting my business and updating my blog with the new design from Cari. But for now I can finally say…Grab My Button!

If you are a WAHM looking to have your product promoted, please contact me- I want to support you!
Eventually, I will also be looking for WAHMs to make diapers and related items for me to sell through my site.
